One of our favorite dogs, Penny, has been returned to TLAC after just a few short weeks. She did not get along with the adopters’ cats. Because TLAC is full, Penny will not be returned to the adoption program. If you can provide Penny with a permanent or foster home that is cat-free, please email PennyATtownlakedogsDOTcom immediately.

This poor girl has been at the shelter too long. Volunteers reported she seemed despondent and uninterested in playing with toys. She got rough with a staff member the other day so they are giving her a one week deadline to find a home or a foster placement. This sometimes happens when the dogs get frustrated from their long confinement. Other volunteers report that Billy Jean is a sweet girl who plays well with other dogs, including females, and is easy to walk on the leash and enjoys hitting the trail. 4/14/2008 UPDATE: Livvy is having a hard time at the shelter. Her behavior is starting to deteriorate. Staff have given her a deadline of April 22 to find a home. Livvy is very responsive to strong leadership and learns quickly. She will need help learning not to be too bossy towards other dogs, and to share her treats and toys nicely. She would do best as an only dog in a home with no young children. Low cost training options will be available for Livvy.
