Two Blondes are Twice the Fun - Fifi and Scully

Favorite buddies Scully and Fifi are now “roommates” sharing kennel 21 at Town Lake Animal Center.

Two Blondes are Twice the Fun
Scully Fifi

Hi, we’re Fifi and Scully. We met and became best friends here at the shelter. We were getting bored and lonely in our kennels so the nice people who work here decided that we could live together. You don’t have to adopt us together, but there are lots of ways that two blondes are better than one. We can entertain and exercise each other when you don’t have time. Our antics will provide you with hours of free entertainment. You’ll get lots of compliments on what a good-looking pair we are. If you’ve always wanted two blondes, ask staff about adopting us together.

Scully and Fifi love playing with all sorts of dogs. If you have a dog at home that needs a playmate, either would make a good choice. Visit their photo galleries to see pictures and video of them playing together. Email townlakedogsATgmailDOTcom for more information.

Running Buddies to be featured at offsite adoption events around town

If you've read the Livvy updates you already know that APA has teamed with a local rescue group to take many of the long-stay dogs at TLAC to offsite adoption events. These events will let a lot more people meet the dogs and increase their chances of adoption. Some of the dogs won't return to the shelter but will live in foster homes. This is great news, but it means that you might not be able to find the running or walking buddy you saw advertised on a flyer when you get to the shelter. I thought our existing pet events calendar would be a good way to let people know where to find our featured dogs that are participating in this new program. I've given the calendar it's own page so you can actually see the entries. You can check the calendar here, or you can subscribe to it.

New adopt a running buddy flyers and other news

Hi everyone. Adoptions always slow down in the winter and the shelter is full of long-stay dogs right now. These are all great deserving dogs who just need a little extra help to find the right home. Expect even more new flyers in the next few days.

The good news is that there may be a news article in the next week or so that mentions our program and features one of our success stories. This should be a great opportunity to spread the word.
