After 3 months in the shelter, sweet Kisses was finally adopted! That’s all we know for now. Hopefully, we will get an update or more information about her new adopters soon.

Tate adopted

Tate was adopted by a wonderful woman with a lot of dog experience yesterday. He did great his first day in his new home. He went on a long walk, played with the neighbor's labs, and had fun swimming in the pool. Tate may finally get the life he missed out on for so long. Good luck Tate!

Marshmallow, Cinders, Petunia, and Samson all adopted!

What a busy weekend and week so far! Marshmallow went home with a great family on Saturday. She will live with two other pits and be spoiled rotten. She deserves it. Cinders and Petunia also went home this weekend, and Samson went home today. Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about these great dogs.

Peter was adopted!

Peter was adopted today. The only information we have is that a woman adopted Peter. Volunteers went the extra mile to put flyers of Peter up all over the city in advance of this weekend. Thanks for all the hard work.

Frankie was adopted. We don't have much more information, but a young woman saw his flyer last week, so this may be the same woman who adopted him.
|

Clancy was adopted last Monday

Clancy was adopted by a young couple with a lot of experience with pit bulls. This was particularly exciting because they had been thinking about buying a very expensive designer pit bull. TLAC receives over 3,000 pit bulls each year. Most will not find homes in time. If you like pit bulls, please consider adopting one instead of buying one.

Keisha spotted on the trail

A volunteer spotted Keisha, who was adopted about a week ago, running with her new "mom" on the trail.

Another happy report from Lance's adopter

DSC01938
hello! this is heather Lance's mom and i just wanted to give you an update on how he is doing. well he is doing great!!!  and am truly still in awe of how wonderfull he is turning out to be!!! he knows several commands now, he knows sit,(this is the only thing he already knew) but i taught him... stay, shake, high five, wisper and speak. he learns fast!! and he is haveing a blast! he comes ot work with me at the pet hotel i work out and i foud out that he is great with other dogs and i guess since he hasn't gotten to play in a long time with other dogs he has a blast!!!!!  LOVES to play! and when i dont take him to doggie day camp we go to the dog park where he has alot more room to RUN.  once he got used to a schedule he was pretty well potty trained.  he has only had 2 accidents and he has chewed up a few things but we solved that by giving him some good tuff chew toys. :D  he starts his training classes the 16th.  he is such a sweet boy. a big lover!!!! he loves to lay his head  in our laps and just let us pet him for forever. and when he is inside he is a big sleepy head and sleeps alot. but once i say 'lets go outside' he perks right up!! he is  a great dog!!! oh and we went to the vet tuesday and he s in good health... he had some bald spots on his back that noone seemed to know what they were and we were guessing it was from really poor nutrition.... well the vet scrapped his skin and he had mites. :( :( but she gave him a shot and they are going away pretty quickly.  his tummy is getting back to normal..... he had diahrea alot while in the shelter and they weren't sure why and thought he had a parasite or something.... but i think it was just all the different food he was getting all the time, but i put him on a god premium food and he is doing well on it.    well overall he is very happy, calm, carefree and just wants some loving.   i included a bunch of pictures of him and us together; your welcome to use these on the website or wherever as a 'testimony' type thing or whatever else. :) well we will send you guys some more updates in a few weeks.

How posting a flyer saved a life - Lizzie's story in the Statesman

The Statesman has a great article today about Lizzie, a dog we featured back in December, and how the Adopt a Running Buddy program saved her life. It features great photos of Lizzie enjoying life with her new family - and even going for regular walks on the hike and bike trial. This is what it's all about. Thanks everyone.
